Journal & Notes
Saturday June 14, 2008  [Happy Birthday Mom...90years.  I miss you]

Happy Flag Day everyone.  I really have no understanding how time gets away from me. But it does. As you can see by the home page...my biggest project right now is getting classes ready for Beverley's return.  I hope to have the kinks workd out this weekend.

Seats are limited for Beverley's classes, so register early with your deposit.  I am so happy to have her back, and these classes promise to be fun and beautiful.

Happy Father's Day to all...the shop will be closed as we have an engagement party for our son and wonderful daughter in law [to be]  which I just can not miss.

Check back soon...I am working on it.  And thanks for all your support and interest.

Once again, it has been longer than I would like to work on this blog page.  And the website in general.  I have just cleaned it out once again. Now to work on the summer calendar of classes....hopefully at least one special teacher and more.  I am not really comfortable still with this program, so it takes time.  In the meantime here are some recent notes about the last few weeks!

Judith Adams was here in April...we had a marvelous time.  Pictures coming soon.  She will be back in 2009, mid September.  Always a fun smocking time with Judith.

Debbie Glenn was just here in May and another good time was had by all.  I learned quite a bit about stabilizers, applique, cutwork and more ALL BY MACHINE.  Of course...in the middle of it all...didn't my machines [yes two] decide they did not like what I wanted to do!! go figure. Anyway...Debbie will be back again in Spring of 2009!!

On a quick personal note: My oldest son graduation Friday May 23rd from Montclair University!! Yahoo...it has been a long time for us....and we are very proud and excited for him as he starts his new life teaching music.  And getting married next year...we love our daughter in law to be!! Can we all say...I should be stitching like crazy...all projects are started...now to get them DONE!

Our second son is now a NJ State Police Dispatcher...working full time...and very pleased for him.  It has been hectic around the house between graduations, trainings and new visions.  I am very very happy that both young men are getting on to life in a good way.  I hope they have much much success.

Our olderst daughter and her son are doing well. She too anticipates being engaged soon. A good thing for her and her boyfriend...we love him too...now let's get on with it!! We need grand babies...;-)

Lastly, the youngest daughter finished her first year at Kean University, loves it and is busy working the summer vacation for sure.  My last baby...growing up...too fast.

So there are the notes from the family side.  And the shop is getting set up for summer.  New fabrics and such will start soon. And we are happy to have new interest in fine sewing and smocking.  I am working on the calendar and projects.  Please let me know what you would like to do...we can work it in.

Check out the Mill Race Village website for summer events coming up!!

Until next time....Keep stitching....see you all soon...Karin

Friday, April 4th, 2008:

OKAY so it has been awhile...geez folks...at the end of the day I just don't get to the website like I should. And unfortunately, this new program still has it's issues as far as I am concerned!! But here we are...

JUDITH ADAMS ARRIVES NEXT WEEK...Looking forward to a fun time with my friend from Down Under. She always teaches with just the right amount of fun and makes us all feel so good about our stitching.  Still some seats open...Call...come stitch with us.

DEBBIE GLENN CLASSES ARE POSTED HERE...finally today...and we are already filling seats...These are the classes for machine sewing that looks so fine!! You see the photos on the home page...wait till you create your own! Seats for these classes are truely limited....register now...or you may be on the waiting list.

Thanks to everyone who has been popping in and shopping. Welcome to all our new friends and stitching compadraies!! In between everyone...I did manage to  stitch up a beautiful dress for Ms Kitty who is having a baby later here in April!! She picked her fabric and pattern and I did the sewing.  Isn't she just lovely?? Little Ms Victoria is due soon...

Also here is a snapshot of our 'parlour' inside.  If you ever wondered
what the 'little' meant...it is truely related to the size of the shop not who or what we sew!! Next journal note I will add some more inside shots...including classes with Judith and Debbie.

Now that I may...I say MAY have figured out this part of my website...I may just make some notes more often.  But for now...Happy Spring to all...Hope you all had a beautiful and blessed Easter Holiday.  And those awaiting Passover and other spring days...Happy ones to all.  Keep stitching!!     Karin

Thursday, Dec. 27, 2007....
Welcome to the shoppe journal or blog page. I am not sure if it will be used as it should be, but hopefully it will be a place to find answers and discussions of all things.  For today, I just want to post and say that getting used to this new web site designer is tough.  It has some issues that I can't seem to work through like I did on my other site.  But, graphics person I am NOT...nor am I that good at computer'ese'.  But hopefully this will be a good spot for all around announcements and suc.  In the interim...Have a HAPPY NEW YEAR ALL...and we look forward to having a great 2008 with all our friends and customers.  Always...keep stitching..Karin
